Orientation Workshop to Social Work students

Asha Neuromodulation Clinic at Gachibowli conducted a half-day Orientation workshop to the faculty and students of Roda Mistry College of Social Work and Research Center at Gachibowli. The objective of the programme was to sensitize the students of BSW and MSW on the importance of “Non Invasive Brain Stimulation in Psychiatry”.

Mr. Srinivas, Psychologist at ANC Dilsukhnagar, opened the workshop briefing about his experiences as a Social Work graduate and later as RTMS Operator cum Psychologist. He narrated his association with ANC since 2022 and gave guidance to the students of BSW and MSW.

Dr. Aswin elaborated on the principles of neuromodulation and the application of RTMS and TDCS in Psychiatry. He justified the application of these techniques for mental health. He expressed his view that “Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Sociologists, and Physiologists, all work on and for a common factor, human behaviour

Ms. Raga Lahari explained about the ERP techniques applied to patients with OCD, emphasizing on the High Intensity Treatment (ANC-HIT) being offered at ANC Gachibowli.

Dr. Sailaja, Psychologist at ANC Gachibowli, explained the group about the safety and screening of patients before RTMS treatment and she gave an elaborate demonstration of deep TMS with H coils and HD-TDCS treatments. Mr. Srinivas and Ms. Raga Lahari assisted her in the demonstration.

The workshop ended with feedback and vote of thanks.

Dr. Harinder, Dr. Jyothi Ranga Rao, Dr. Saba Quadri, all working as faculty at the college along with 16 students attended the workshop. Mr. B. Srinath expressed his gratitude for this educative session and happiness for being part of this. Dr. Aswin concluded the meeting saying that ANC is always open and ready for academic collaborations to foster productive and prospective learning in the field of NIBS.
